A thirty day challenge

The Thirty Day Reclaiming.

Thirty days of taking back the language used about you, and of saying thank you for something small. Two sentences a day, and both are needed for the day to count. Every three days you complete earns a badge.

Start whenever you start. I am doing it with you.

Before you start

Do you want this kept?

Not everyone is at the same stage, and not everyone can safely leave a record on a device. Choose whichever is true for you today. You can change it whenever you like, and changing to the second option erases what is already there.

Each day · one

Turn one thing around

Take one thing that has been said about you — or is being said now — and write it back as what it actually is. Not what they made it mean.

For example

“She thinks she’s better than everyone.”

I hold a standard, and I would not lower it to be liked. That is not thinking I am better. It is the one thing they could not talk me out of.

Each day · two

Give thanks for something

Thank God for one thing, however small. If you are not Christian or Jewish, give thanks however you wish, to whatever you hold.

For example

Thank You for the ten minutes this morning when nobody needed anything from me. I did not ask for them and they came anyway.

Turned around Gave thanks

A day counts only when both are written.

I am doing it too

0 of 30 shared

My own thirty days, published in blocks of three as I finish them. Mine is public because I am not going to ask you to do something I will not do in the open. Yours stays on your device, and it should.

  1. The first three go up as soon as they are done. I am starting with you, not ahead of you — so this is empty for the same reason yours is.

What you have earned

0 of 10

A badge for every three days completed — both sentences on all three. Miss one and the block stays open until you fill it.

Earn one and you can save it as a sticker. The image is drawn here on your device, not fetched from anywhere.

If any of this brings up more than you expected, that is worth taking seriously rather than pushing through. The helplines are on the safety page.
